Our Story!
Hi, I’m Amelia, The founder of The Young Explorers Club.
The first of its kind in Merseyside, we are an outdoor playgroup, combining play and exploration with a forest school ethos.
Early Years Learning has played such a vital role throughout my career. With a background in Teaching and Early Years Education spanning over 18 years, I have witnessed firsthand the importance of learning through play. Giving children a real sense of purpose enables them to truly grow and thrive to reach their full potential. And contact with nature is the one of the greatest ways we can bolster a child’s learning.
It was always a pipe-dream of mine to create a business that championed the benefits of learning through play in an outdoor environment. After months of hard work, The Young Explorers Club was born, and we were able to begin our journey at a private woodland space in Formby. Alongside my husband and 4 year old daughter, we worked tirelessly on the preparing a disused woodland area into a magical place of awe and wonder!
Research and hands-on knowledge has always been paramount with everything I do no matter what aspect. Our play environment has been adapted to welcome learners of all backgrounds and abilities and one in which I’m enormously proud of. We are constantly sourcing quality resources, hosting events and providing inspirational play ideas to develop and enhance our outdoor play space so that we can convert screen time into green time!
Nature connection is more important than ever.
We can’t wait to share our magical little space with you!
